Some spectral results on Kakeya sets – Another paper on the Kakeya problem with my friend Keith Mellinger, regarding some of the combinatorics of “large” Kakeya sets.

A minimum blocking semioval in PG(2,9) – Yet another article in the “Jeremy used to be a mathematician” series. My buddies Keith Mellinger and Kenny Wantz and I found an interesting example which filled a hole in the state of knowledge about blocking semiovals in small order projective planes.

Small Kakeya sets in non-prime order planes – A bit of a departure from our security research! My friend Keith Mellinger and I have been investigating aspects of the Kakeya problem for several years, and came up with an interesting construction.

A switch table vulnerability in the Open Floodlight SDN controller – This paper documents another vulnerability in version 0.90 of the Open Floodlight SDN controller software, which can also result in a denial of service attack, crashing the controller service. This effect is the result of a flaw in OpenFlow protocol processing, where specific malformed and mistimed FEATURES_REPLY messages cause the controller service to not delete switch and port data from its internal tracking structures.

A denial of service attack against the Open Floodlight SDN controller – This paper documents a vulnerability in version 0.90 of the Open Floodlight SDN controller software, where an attacker with access to the OpenFlow control network can selectively disconnect individual switches from the SDN controller, causing degradation and eventually denial of network access to all devices connected to the targeted switch.
Publication date: 30 December 2013, Author: Jeremy M. Dover, CVE-2013-7333
